Mike Pintek: “National Nightmare That Is Roseanne”

The Mike Pintek Show

The reboot of “Roseanne” was canceled by ABC on Tuesday following Roseanne Barr’s racist tweets about former Obama’s adviser Valerie Jarrett.

Barr referred to Jarrett as the product of Muslim Brotherhood and the “Plant of the Apes.”

Mike Pintek believes that Barr’s tweets were extremely racist but also said, “Would it not have been better to keep the show running and see what the market place did, what their response would be.”

“Would there be advertisers pulling out, would people stop watching the show, would the ratings tank?  Then they could have pointed to that and said well obviously the market place has spoken and we don’t want Roseanne anymore.”

One listener said, “ABC did a knee jerk reaction and canceled it too quick and should have let the markets speak.  A lot of people are now out of work and it is very unfair because of one person’s comments.”

Another listener said, “What Roseanne Barr said was not racist, she wasn’t talking about the whole black race, she was talking about Valerie Jarrett and how she looks.”

Mike said, “What she said was a racist reference, there’s no question about it, it was clearly racist and not funny at all.”

Did ABC make the right decision canceling the show or should they have let the market place decide like Mike suggested?
