Starbucks is closing stores nationwide Tuesday to conduct anti-bias training to improve their reputation after a Starbucks location in Philadelphia had two black men arrested for being in their store waiting for someone without buying something

The arrest caused the company a lot of backlash.

In the hopes of fixing things, Starbucks also announced that you no longer have to be a paying customer to use the restroom or sit in the store.

Mike Pintek said, “Starbucks may just become a fancy homeless shelter.”

As far as the training goes, Pintek said, “I don’t know if this is going to change anything.  But I do know I feel kind of sorry for the barista’s that have to sit through it.”

One of Mike listener’s said, “You are really packing some heat with your mouth today.  You are just broadcasting hate and toxifying the environment.  Everything you just said about unconscious bias and sensitivity is ridiculous.”

Another listener said, “I can’t imagine sitting through sensitivity training for who knows how long.”

A listener in Cranberry said, “I don’t know if we need more sensitivity training or if we just need to learn to lighten up a bit.”

To which Mike replied, “People claim they are so tolerant and sensitive, but they are insensitive and intolerant to anyone who disagrees with them.”

Mike wonders if there will there be a backlash now for conducting sensitivity training or a reversed bias toward white people.  What do you think?
