PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Fear not lovers of fun in the sun...spring will soon be upon us!

At least according to the calendar...sorry...we'll get to that in a second.

Spring arrives in Pittsburgh Tuesday at 12:15 in the afternoon...for you true weather geeks, it's officially called the Vernal Equinox...or when the suns rays are directly over the equator, giving those areas about 12 hours of daylight and darkness each day.

Here's a handy picture to explain things...

Spring will last until June 21st when the Summer Soltace will roll around.

In the meantime, it's looking more and more likely that the first day of spring and days that follow will be anything but springlike...

The Weather Channel also has their antenna up on next week...

Our friends at Accu-Weather agree with this scenario...

While there are still several days to go before the first flakes begin to fall, both major computer models (The GFS and European) seem to be in agreement that snow (in some capacity) will fall over Pittsburgh...

Temperatures next week are expected to remain below normal, setting the state for possible snow.

Stay Tuned...but try to stay calm...
