House Bill 2060 to Further Protect Domestic Abuse Victims

House Bill 2060, which would require those subject to final protection from abuse orders to turn in their firearms while the order is still in effect, passed unanimously in the Senate. Nicole Molinaro, Director of Services at the Women's Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, talked with Mangino about the important changes from current legislation; most importantly, that guns must be turned over to law enforcement, an authoized gun dealer or an attorney within 48 hours instead of 60 days. This is protect women during their most vulnerable time- when they initially seek help.
